I just recently discovered a valuable program on PRI (Public Radio International), called  Studio360, that covers pop culture, arts and entertainment.  For a  program that considers themselves a “guide” to pop culture one might expect them to come off snobbish or pompous.  But the sophisticated production resists the temptation and gives a personalized a respectful look at the latest art, fashion, trends and inventions.  One of my favorite parts of this program is it’s special segment, dedicated to exploring the ingeniousness of some of the most familiar things we use and experience everyday, called “Design For The Real World.” The most recent of these 3-5 minute documentaries was done on sneakers by none other than Paola Antonelli, the design curator at the Museum of Modern Art.  You can hear the latest by listening in on PRI (click link for stations and times), catching it on Studio360’s website, or subscribing to the podcast on iTunes.
